Call 281-431-7441 for more information. In this video, Houston Grass South Owner Michael Romine answers the frequent question, “how many square feet of sod per pallet of grass.” There’s no industry standard, but for Houston Grass South the answer is 450 square feet.
Here’s Michael Romine explaining this.
Here’s a summary of the video.
How many square feet of grass is on the pallet of sod? A pallet is
defined as 450 square feet. It has 165 of the 16 by 24 blocks of grass on
it, and that is what we say defines one pallet of grass and it does
normally weigh about 2500 to 3000 lbs and that’s across all of the varieties
of grass. That’s the way we sell a pallet of grass.
This is true for all of the varieties of grass sod that we sell, whether St. Augustine sod, Bermuda grass sod, or Zoysia sod. We do sell partial pallets of Raleigh St. Augustine grass sod and for the Raleigh St. Augustine, you can purchase a quantity as small as one 16 inch by 24 inch piece of grass. If you want half a pallet of Raleigh St. Augustine sod, we can help you there too. We sell enough of the Raleigh St. Augustine grass sod that we can sell it by the piece and partial pallet. Unfortunately, we can’t sell pieces and partial pallets of grass sod for the other varieties of St. Augustine sod — Palisades and Floratam. We also can’t sell partial pallets of Bermuda grass sod or Zoysia grass sod. Call us at 281-431-7441 for more information.
