I can vouch for the quality of our grass. That grass comes from our farm at Triangle Turf in Bay City. We work hard to ensure that our quality is second to none, and I can endorse the product that comes from our farm. We’ve been growing quality grass there since 1981.
If you’re just not in our part of Houston and aren’t within thirty minutes of here, there are a few places around Houston that also sell our grass. A few of the Living Earth locations, one in The Woodlands, one out in Katy and one in Richmond sell grass that comes strictly from our farm as well. If you’re going to buy grass sod in Houston, I would probably shy away from the places that aren’t grass specific like the big box stores. There are also some smaller operations that sell grass, but maybe their quality could be hit and miss as well.
The problem with the big box stores is it’s not the only business that they’re in. We’re in the grass business so we turnover our grass multiple times a day. Most of the time at the big box stores, it’s just luck of the draw if you find your grass variety in stock.
Then sometimes their grass sod has been sitting there for three or four days in a hot parking lot. And that’s not good as is evident when you look at their pallets.
